The name of this famous wine probably derived from Swabians or Suave, one of the human races who attempted the conquest of Italy in medieval times. Others believe the name Soave was given to the city by the divine poet Dante for the quality of its wine. Its colour is straw yellow, and its perfume is floral, intense and delicate. A medium-bodied white wine with typical notes of dried fruits that is best served with fish starters or as an aperitif.
